Biography

I hold a PhD degree in Computer Vision & Data Classification from the Department of ECE, University of Windsor in 2012, a Master's degree in Probabilistic Modeling & Machine Learning from the Department of Computer Science, Lakehead University in 2007, and I possesses a Post-Doctoral fellowship in Distortion Analysis, Correction, and Camera Calibration for industrial x-ray CCD-cameras with fiber optic tapers for Proto Manufacturing Inc, Canada in 2012. Based on my firm belief that the role of the faculty member in the areas of applied science and technology is not limited to teaching students concepts and theories, but extends to provide them a solid bridge to ensure their access to the stage of implementation and production effectively. This can only be achieved by skilled faculty members who have the required skills and practical experience that ensure fully carrying out of their missions. In this context, I consider myself one of those who have this characteristic as: first, I love teaching students and I enjoy their class interactions in the courses I teach, second, I have rich knowledge in the field acquired throughout my studies and research, third, I have many years of relevant experience in training, teaching, supervising and dealing with undergraduate students, and forth, excellent skills in methodologies, architectures, development, database implementation and administration. My teaching experience after receiving my PhD degree includes numerous courses which were Data Structures, Principles of DBMSs and Relational Models, Data and Information Management, Web Services, Database Implementation and SQL, OOP with Java, Application Development and SDLC, User Interface Design, Programming with C, and Digital Image Processing. This was over the last 8 years as a lecturer at the College of Electronic Technology Tripoli and the University of Tripoli, where I was able to establish an easy rapport with undergraduate students and engage their interest in OOP with Java and C++, database implementation, and web services. I have succeeded in gaining students' trust so they appreciate my enthusiasm and knowledge of my topics. During my research I published a number of scientific articles in accredited proceedings and journals as a principal author, including, but not limited to, the paper in Uncertainty and Probabilistic Modeling presented at the IEEE EIT-2008 in the USA, which won the First Place Award that I still keep and was the outcome of my master's studies at Lakehead University; Another one in Data Classification in Non-linear Spaces that was published in Pattern Recognition Letters, volume 34 in 2013.
